About Me
Hello! I am originally from Omaha, Nebraska, however, being a part of a military family meant I was able to explore new areas. When I was young, I moved to North Charleston, South Carolina and made truly fond memories. My passion with food started at a young age. My parents taught me how to cook and I enjoyed being in the kitchen. The enjoyment my family would have and the bonding experience I received will always have a special place in my heart. My grandparents have been other idols in my life. My grandfather owns a butcher shop, makes homemade sausages, and has strong self-motivation. My grandmother has a strong willed and devoted personality. She started her career in the food industry by being a pantry chef and later owed a catering business. These attributes have been passed down to me and has drawn me to the path I am on.

While being in high school, I participated in an apprenticeship program with a local college and Kiawah Island Golf Resort. This program showed me the array of options in the culinary industry and what it means to be in food service.
After attending a nutrition course during my freshman year, I realized that I didn’t want to just focus on cooking anymore. I knew I wanted to find a way to bridge the gap between food and nutrition in a way that makes me truly unique. After a long consideration, I decided to complete a BS in Culinary Arts and a BS in Dietetics and Applied Nutrition to best be prepared to serve my future target population. These two programs provided me with the necessary skills to succeed like dedication, diligence, and perseverance regardless of what comes my way.
Throughout multiple work experiences, with WOLFoods and Sodexo, I have developed a calling for pediatrics. I want to help better the public-school food systems, ensure proper nutrition standards are being met, and increase the quality of the food being sent to our future generations.
